Each of us goes through a journey where we try to discover our true identity. Temika Moore, a Philadelphia native, who now resides in Washington DC, is going through such a process now, which you can hear in her music with the release of the EP, “The End of Me.” “So many times, we are not sure who we are because we are not sure of our purpose. I have made mistakes, I try to learn from them and move on,” states Temika. In the title track, “The End of Me” Temika addresses making mistakes and yearning for a simpler time. When you listen to Temika’s music, you will hear her passion, her pain, and her spiritual journey.
“It was extremely hard for me to sing about all the things that I have gone through,” she says. “ It’s very personal and it’s very real.” The first single, “I’m Not Okay,” is a song about telling the truth about your feelings. “When people ask ‘How are you,’ and I respond I am not okay, they are not ready for that response or think you are crazy,” laughs Temika. It’s that honesty that we lack in the music today. Moore is bringing back that real, soulful sound. Temika’s music embodies gospel, soul, pain, love, and truth.
“I am a woman in charge and the type of music, image, and message that I put out there will be something that is very truthful,” says Temika. “Since I pay the bills for my music, both my sound and record label will be a reflection of who I am,” she says.
